Welcome to the offerings of the Śabda Institute!

Here, you will find upcoming live events as well as past courses that are available for self-study. All courses are based in nondual traditions and are grouped in three primary categories – diamond body, crystal mind and golden heart. Even though these categories seem to be separate, there is a large degree of overlap between them. Courses and teachings that apply to the body, for instance, also work on the mind and heart. Within each category, teachings are grouped in levels to help you decide what to choose. Please keep in mind that these groupings are mere suggestions to make the most of the Śabda Institute offerings. You can also skip the groupings and go to all courses page here.

The Śabda Series is an immersion program for women, with intensive study and practice  spanning several years.

The Śabda Saṅgha membership program is for anyone interested in ongoing study and practice with Kavitha. Saṅgha teachings are exclusive to members only and are not available elsewhere.

Latest Course

This foundational course is a must for anyone interested in nondual Śākta and Śaiva traditions, with a focus on the most important practice - cultivating awareness. Ordinarily, we assume that this primary practice "happens on its own" as we go about perfecting other practices such as mantra, mudrā, prāṇāyāma, and meditation. On the contrary, all other practices become exponentially more effective through the cultivation of awareness and sattarka, which is translated as sound or higher reasoning.

This 4-week course will be deeply empowering and transformational through the application of progressively deepening practices, the darśana or the View of the path, and intimate discussion with like-minded practitioners.

The course will take place on consecutive Thursdays - October 14, 21, 28, and November 4 - at 7 PM EST.

Registration for the 2022 Sabdopaya program begins on January 14th, 2022, and the program begins on March 1st, 2022. For more detailed information, there will be an informational call on December 4th (registration required – see below). This call will be recorded and available thereafter.

Śabda Institute Self-study Guide

In keeping with the Śabda Institute’s hypothesis, the deep study of any single course will lead you further in your practice than a cursory or purely intellectual understanding of the totality of our offerings. If there is a course or topic that calls you into deep study, we encourage you to focus there.

However, following the receipt of multiple requests to this effect, this self-study guide was prepared to assist those interested in taking a long-term study approach. The guide recommends a logical sequence and offers suggestions for application in your life. As we know, our goal is to apply these teachings such that they help us evolve in our spiritual practice.

This course [Lalitha Sahasranama] opened my eyes and heart to the beauty of the LSN. Taking the course has given me a much deeper understanding to its meaning. Sometimes I find myself crying when I recite it and don’t know why and simply let the tears flow and my body shake. Thank you so much, Kavitha, your teachings are transformational”.

I have had fairly extensive learning and practical training in tantric practices but still found this course [Shakti Rising] an absolute treasure trove of information, insights and knowledge coupled with the most practical, real, deep and potentially transformative homework practices I have come across. It is very important to have read the book Shakti Rising first but then this course will definitely change peoples’ lives if applied with commitment, resolution and sincerity.

This is one of the best courses [Fractals of Reality] I have ever taken. Kavitha simplified the teachings into chunks and made it practical to our day to day life – fractals of reality. Each day was in a way unlearning and learning to move a step closer to reality. It is not a course. It is a teaching of a lifetime. Thank you Kavitha”.

The S̄rī Sūktam course touched me so deeply that I can hardly describe what is happening. There has been a great shift in consciousness and the whole day looks different. It radiates and shines through me as if the sun is shining in all my encounters with others. I no longer run empty. The colors are different, the sounds are different … every day I go through the homework, contemplate, do a meditation and chant the S̄rī Sūktam several times. It is a joy to do. I thank you for your wisdom from the bottom of my heart. It has drastically changed my life and practice.

I’ve been going through some deep emotional releases and I know that thanks to this course [Kali Mahavidya] I could observe them with patience. I often remind myself about Kali’s graveyard and that gives a certain feeling of calmness and beauty inside. Life is even more of an adventure now.

Deeply grateful to be able to learn this [Durga] suktam from you. Devi truly has blessed me with this one especially at the time when I am blocked by that inertia you mention here.

I cannot express my gratitude in words but please know that I am extremely grateful to know you and learn from you. Since I started this pooja [The Sublime Art of Puja], I am seeing a lot of positive changes.
